Pedagogical Contents
Just like in any other classroom set-up, the teacher is the facilitator of the students' learning. So, the teacher will impose an activity for the students to answer which will eventually leads to their learning of the lesson.
In terms of learning materials, each student has their own Mathematics learning material which consists of brief discussion of the lesson and lots of activities and problem-solving for drill and practice. Aside from their learning material, the teacher gave more mathematical problems from other materials.
LCD Projector and speakers are some of the technology being used in the classroom. In order to make mathematics more interesting, visual and audio presentations were used. Also, the students are able to discover the deeper sense of the topic due to holistic activities prepared by the teacher.
In my first observation, the teacher used reporting to involve the students in the teaching and learning process. Prior to my observation, my supervisor gave a research assignment about their next topic. Hence, the students have already a background knowledge about their lesson.
Teaching Plan
SMAN 2 Madiun uses the 2013 Curriculum. Based on the curriculum, the teacher should be more creative for the students to become active. In other words, the teacher is just the facilitator of learning inside the classroom. Hence, the assessment of learning should measure various aspects of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behavior holistically.
We have almost the same content of lesson plan in the Philippines. However, the arrangement of activities of the teacher and students is somehow altered yet meet the same criterion on effective teaching method.
